[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Ovambo Sparrowhawk - Accipiter ovampensis.
Fairly Common resident. Adults identified by grey barring on underparts extending to throat, cere yellow, orange or red, legs yellow or red. In flight shows pale central tail feather-shafts, small white rump patch variable, often absent. Call a slowly repeated 'kiep, kiep, kipe ...' or 'wo-wo-wo..' rising in scale.
Sparsely distributed in thornveld and broad leafed wood land or in the highveld, in stands of eucalyptus or poplars where it is the most common small Accipiter.

spotted at
Florence Bloom (Delta Park)Bird Sanctuary in Johannesburg, South Africa, he/she was busy chasing away parrots and louries until the grey louries fought back in a large group!

Hello Paul

How did I miss this. I love the detail in the plumage. Nice pose with the head turn. Excellent catchlight in the eye and a perfect BG. Welll done. Thanks.
