Hi Calie, long time no hear. I hope you are well, I miss you guys.
This is a great shot. Love the subtle understated feel to it but with the head nicely in focus. It works very well. Personally I would have cloned out the grass head on the left or else put more in!

Boooooaaaaa, Callie, that's it!
The shot you only can make once in a life.
Excellent, so sharp, so romantic with the soft wings, it's like in a dream. I love it, thanks

Apart from the fact that this beautiful photo really portraits nature at its natural best, it also shows nature in an artistically superior fashion. This is painting by camera and I think it is a perfect example of how the ISO 400 sellection can render grain (some people might want to call it noise) that can be used to improve or aid the final look or mood of a photo.
The moment and movement was brilliantly captured. The composition is of outstanding quality, the colours are remarkable to say the least, the DOF have captured amazing details, the OOF BG is totally complimentary to the subject, and the exposure was expertly managed.
Great work and TFS.

I love your ballet dancer, quite exquisite and dainty. And beautiful colours too.
It was worth the leeches, thanks my friend,

This photo reminds me of exactly why we've missed you, the gasp of "wow" upon opening the thumbnail to full size, the realization that this is what kind of photography I'd like to aspire to learn. What a beautiful, graceful, serene, almost poetic piece of art, as Janice said, so worth the leeches, although they weren't on MY legs so easy for me to say huh?
Wonderful color and form, truly like a watercolor painting, well done just doesn't seem to do, I hope between exams you'll pop in for "just one more" again and again.

I love it, Callie. : )
Makes me think of a Chinese painting.
The richness of details and colors against the simplicity of the composition gives it a zen quality.
I do like the hints of the reeds in there, as I think they do add depth.
I even like the reed on the left. It gives a focus to the bir'ds intense stare. A superior image.
TFS and certainly hoping for more. : )

One more? ;-)
It's a lovely shot! I like the subtle colours and first of all the moment captured here. Great details on the head and perfect exposure. I don't mind the reeds at all. They give kind of depth to the picture. I would clone out the one on the left though. It's a little distracting.
Overall, it's a superb shot and it's great to see another one from you so soon!
VERY WELL DONE!

And another one, please :-)
Very nice catch. I like pose of Heron, its delicate colours and silhouette. It is something ethereal in these big but for somehow fragile birds. Great work my friend!

so this is a D200 picture. The colours and the light is lovely.
The details specially on the eye is vey good.
The POV is good too, maybe the straw down left is a bit disturbing but not much.
It's good to see you post here again, my friend.

Remarkable shot of this flying heron. ( a shot that is not easy!). You managed very well the exposition and got a great pov. The reeds in the bg is not a problem at all and add to the picture but the one on the left is a little bit annoying. The composition is excellent also! Great work and TFS,

Really delicate, the bird and the tones, are all beautiful. The bird is the right place in the pic and the blurred vegetation in BG gives more "life" to the white of sky.
