The grey heron (Ardea cinerea)
I have captured this picture of Grey Heron at Marievale Bird Sanctuary, Nigel, South Africa. Tried my best technique to focus all of them equally, although it's very difficult while you are using zoom 600mm.
Grey Heron is a long-legged predatory wading bird of the heron family, Ardeidae, native throughout temperate Europe and Asia and also parts of Africa. It is resident in much of its range, but some populations from the more northern parts migrate southwards in autumn. A bird of wetland areas, it can be seen around lakes, rivers, ponds, marshes and on the sea coast. It feeds mostly on aquatic creatures which it catches after standing stationary beside or in the water or stalking its prey through the shallows. |

You captured this perfectly. Beautiful colors, sharp, and illustrative in one picture of different wings positions during flight.
Hi Srikumar,
Beautiful trio photographed with awesome clarity. Perfect exposure and shutter speed to freeze the action, fantastic odd number composition. Without doubt the 'Photo of the day' for me here. Bravo!
Kind regards from Ireland, László

Very well exposed and sharp at 600 mm.
TFS Deon.
Hi Srikumar,
You have captured well the flight of the birds. The point of view is showing the details of the Grey Herons. The light is bringing out the colors. Have a nice day.
