South African Mongoose Species... The Always-Active Always-Aggressive Small Predators,

The Aggressive South African Mongoose,

There are approximately 11 common species of Mongoose in South Africa, which includes the South African Mongoose special the Meerkat (Suricate). These South African Mongoose are extremely brave and are one of the few predators in South Africa that can actually attack and kill deadly snakes, like the Cobra species. There are all different types of Mongoose... Water dependant Mongoose, Grassland-Dependant Mongoose, Thicket-Dependant Mongoose and Nocturnal Mongoose. Here is a list of all the Mongoose species (Including the Meerkat) that occur within the South African border,

South African Mongoose Species: Banded Mongoose, Meller's Mongoose, Selous's Mongoose, Small Grey Mongoose, Large Grey Mongoose, Slender Mongoose, Water Mongoose (Marsh Mongoose), Dwarf Mongoose, White-Tailed Mongoose, Yellow Mongoose and Meerkat (Suricate)

Really this animal looks very active and even a little bit agressive in its decided way to run around..you have caught very well the specificity of this species. The movement is very well taken and the vivid eye very well shown!

It does have a slight look resembling to my pairies dog, but probably a lot more agressive. Good image of the animal in motion good focus and good exposure and good details in shadows considering the verticality of the sun. Good picture and TFS
