I had captured this picture in Orpen, Kruger National Park, South Africa. It was afternoon and I got soft but nice light from side. It was not an easy task for me to capture such restless bird from car window with my 300mm lens. But it's a new species in my gallery and I am quite happy to add this bird in my TN profile. The Grey Go-away bird(Corythaixoides concolor),also know as Grey Lourie, is a Southern African bird of uniform grey with black beak and pink gape. It is widespread in savanna woodland. It has a distinctive loud alarm call "Quare", fancifully sounding like "go away". The crest is raised when excited. Its diet mainly fruit, flowers, buds, leaves, termites, and snails. The habitat it occupies is dry open savanna woodlands, farms.

Hi Srikumar,
Great Capture ..
A lovely capture of this beautiful the Grey Go-away Bird. Good composition with sharp details.
Best wishes,

Hi Sri,
Nice composition, lights and colors. Focus is a little soft on the bird's head, but at least the plumage isn't oversharpened. ;-) Great shot overall, maybe with a little too much foreground (sky at the bottom) to my personal taste.
Have a nice Christmas (if you celebrate it), best regards, László

Hello Srikumar,
Splendid photo with a very interesting bird. Excellent contrast and fantastic DOF. I love the contrast against the blue sky in the background. It is a rare image.
Thanks for sharing!

Hello Srikumar,
I know this bird very well. When one walks in the bush it will accompany you, fly ahead from tree to tree and give its shrill call to warn whoever needs to know of one's presence. And yes, restless it is and so I can well imagine that it was difficult to get this very good image in such wonderful detail and composition. Very well done indeed. Best wishes.

natural color.attractivo pose.

Hello Srikumar

You shot the photo at this bird' best pose with its expressive glance
