[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This shot was taken near the Bridal Veil waterfall in South Africa. The place is near Sabie in Mpumalanga (Low Veld).

It is a very beautiful and hilly part of the country, that is used mosty for growing trees. The area around this has many tourist attractions. There are several other waterfalls (Mac-mac, Lisbon, Berlin, Horse shoe and other). It is also close to Gods Window, the Three Rondawels and the Potholes.

Hope you like the shot. I have been hoping to get a shot like this for almost a year now (since I started photography). I had to use the remote shutter release, as touching the camera (on the tripod) would still produce blur.

Shot Details:
Exposure Time: 1.6 sec
F-Stop: f/22.0
ISO Speed Ratings: 100
Focal Length: 67/1 mm
Date Taken: 2006-03-18 10:14
Polarizer Filter: Yes
Tripod: Yes
Remote Shutter Release: Yes

It is a lovely shot. Well exposed and with lovely saturated colours. you should be please with it.

did you know? the eos 350D also has a feature called mirror lock up which is in the custom features, that along with either a shutter release (or if you have forgotten it) the timer switch allows for even less camera shake when taking a photo and is especially useful.

Great job. This is one of my favorite types of photos. You did well. Good motion and color. There are two little purple (flowers?) I think in the middle of the waterfall that are a little bit of a distraction since they are a bit blurry. I suppose this is from wind and movement? Great job.

Hi Johan,
Very beautiful and lovely shot.Perfect focus. Colors, POV, sharpness, composition and framing are very excellent.Congratulations...

I have to learn how to photograph a waterfall like you've done! Very nice effect on the water. Great colors and focus. This could easily be a waterfall in our area it looks so similar.

Hi Johan
Beautiful landscape picture.Good POV and DOF.
Well done

Hi Johan,
wow, I love this shot.
The silky effect is perfect, I never could do such a shot - I always wonder how to make it.
I think it must be dark to use long exposure to get this silky water?!?
Thanks for your excellent one, bye

Hello Johan,
This is a lovely shot! Water looks great, I like the framing and POV too.

Incredible shot! I love how you made the water look with the long exposure while still keeping the detail of the plants around the rocks. Very nice shot! TFS!

Hi Johan,
Some how I've missed this beauty. Great colors, excellent work on the exposure and a perfect POV. Love the colors and the stunning details. Do watch out with the shutter speed and moving opbject such leafs and plants.
