Masked Weaver Female
|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|Masked Weaver (Ploceus velatus)|
This is an image of a female Masked Weaver. She is responsible for inspection of the nest prior to breeding. If she is happy with the construction of the nest it is unseremoniously demolished and the male has to start from scratch.
Shooting data: Nikon D70. Sigma 170-500mm set to 400mm. ISO 400.

Another beautiful sharp capture! Thanks for posting. I love the DOF and detail in this image.
Ben, Nice shot. Good composition with the elements ont he right. They add structure to your shot. The head seems to vanish in the background as it has the same colours.
Sharp, sharp !
Great capture of this bird, nice colours and composition, it's a pity, that she looks the other side instead of you (and us), but...very nice !
