Stapelia gigantea
Family: Asclepiadaceae
Stapelia gigantea is an interesting plant native to South Africa, that resembles cactus, with clumps of 4-sided spineless stems. Also called Starfish flower,Zulu Giant or Carrion flowers due to its horrible smell.
Flowers are big,10-16 inches across, shaped as 5-pointed stars, they have an elaborate circular fleshy disk in the center. The flowers smell like carrion and attract flies.

hi albert,
beautiful flower in this image, can not smell this one but looks like it has got a visitor. good composition and colors. tfs.

You mean it isn't Cactus and only bears resemblance to it, Albert? I can't believe it!
The flower is very beautiful and you have got a Bottle Fly on it.
That makes the picture a two subjects presentation.
Thanks and regards.

bonjour Albert

Hello Albert,
An excellent capture of this Asclepia cactus and its large flower that has attracted a blue-bottle fly to it. The size and smell of the flower remind me of the Rafflesia flower of SE Asia, though they are not related.
Technically this first class and the composition pleasing.
TFS this fine and unusual contribution,
Kind regards,
