Black Headed Heron
|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|I was watching the Black Headed Heron building the nests in the willow trees, after watching then for a while i pointed the lens up and took some shots of them in flight.|
1/800 I wanted to get some motion blur on the wings but have the head and body sharp.

Amazing, amazing capture, Karl! In-flight pictures of birds never fail to astonish me and your shot has all the qualities to make it one of the good ones - the composition is very good, the side-view of the bird with its wings stretched is just lovely. The details around the eyes are good and the lovely colours of background make the capture very beautiful.
Karl - I think this is an outstanding image - well done. The sharpness of the head, neck and body is fantastic. The timing is wonderfull. I believe the curvature of the wings, wing tips, neck and back of the heron at this moment in flight really add to this image, your attention is drawn immediately to the beautiful and perfect lines of nature. I am impressed - congratulations on a wonderful image.
Amazing panning & outstanding shot with perfect inflight details of black heron against the faded background. TFS
This is truly a stunning image. And once again you've made the bird stand out against the background. My biggest dream is to take a photo of a flying bird. Very well done and thanks for sharing.
