[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Another shot of the Southern Double-Collared male. A very small bird with beautiful breeding plumage. In non-breeding season it looks like the female which is a dull grey colour.
They are nectar feeders but will also feed on small insects. Habitat are mostly fynbos flowers in mountainous areas but are easily attracted to suburban gardens.
Sunbirds are by far my favourate little birds.
This shot was taken with the Canon 40D fitted with a Canon 100-400 lens.
