[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A brownish coloured mousebird with a black bill and untidy looking tail. Size 27-36 cm - Slightly smaller than a Laughing Dove, but with a very long tail. Afrikaans: Gevlekte Muisvo.
The Speckled mousebird is common in South Africa and Mozambique, where it is common in suburban gardens. It is highly adaptable, and can be found in many types of habitats. It feeds on plant matter, mainly fruit, but also leaves, nectar and buds. The breeding pair is helped by 2-6 helpers, normally half of which are not related. The nest is a small bowl of grass, lined with soft material. It lays 1-7 eggs, which are incubated by both sexes, for 12-15 days. The nestlings start to explore the branches surrounding the nest at 10-11 days, staying in the nest for the first 4-10 days more, after which they become independent.
Best Regards,

Hello Bunyapon,
For me a special looking bird. You didn't have an easy task to take your picture against the white sky. You did the best out of it. Well chosen vertical composition and natural colors too.
Thanks and kind regards

Excellent capture with fantastic clarity, focus and splendid colours!!!

Hello Bunyapon,

Nice picture of this intriguing bird (why is it called "Mousebird"?). I like the vertical composition. The only thing maybe is that I would have removed or diminished the branch in front of him blocking its sight.

Nice job and TFS the image of a bird I didn't know.

Hello Bungbing,
A very nice photo of this Speckled Mousebird. Difficult to take a photo like this against an almost total white sky. But you managed it very well. Nice natural colours and excellent sharpness. Pleasing eye contact in a good composition.
