[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
We are back from our recent trip to Kruger National Park. At long last, after many visits to the Park, I have managed to get a photo of a yawning hippo!
As a keen wildlife photographer, there are a few photos that have always eluded me, ons is a yawning hippo, that one I managed to get now.
Another elusive photo is that of a fish eagle grabbing a fish out of the water. Who knows, perhaps next time?

Hello Peter,
Impressive photo of this yawning hippo. Excellent timing and very close.
I've got photos of both, but not in this quality. The fish eagle is a slide from a long time ago in bad quality.
Great sharpness and beautiful natural colours.
Regards,
Peter

HI Peter,

Fantastic shot of this huge animal of africa with its famous pose displaying the killer teeths.
It is the most dangerous animal in africa so be careful while shooting & all the best for your next pic ( hopefully a fish eagle).
Well done & TFS.
Kapil

very good moment and scene, good compo performance!

Hello Peter,
Looking at your picture I had to yawn..not because your shot is boring but I suppose it is its big open mouth which invited me to that gesture. Very natural and vivid shot. I think if you had made a little change of position you could have had less of the tree in the picture.
Thanks and kind regards
Anne

Hello Peter,
Well you finally got your yawning hippo, and what a winner it is!! Filled with excellent detail and beautiful natural coloration. Looks like he broke off one of his large bottom tusks, ouch!! that must have hurt!! Hopefully your Eagle photo will be right around the next corner.
I must admit I always feel a little jealous whenever I see such large animals from the wilds of Africa, since the biggest animals we have are White-tailed Deer.
When I post an insect or a flower I often wonder if it is even interesting to those who have such magnificent creatures living amongst them all the time.
Ron

Bonjour Peter,
Remarquable cliché pris à l'instant décisif ; merci pour le partage et bonne chance pour la recherche d'autres images mythiques de la vie sauvage.
A bientôt sur TN pour de nouvelles aventures.
Gérard

Hi Peter,
WOW, I would definitely not bring my "Chomp" near to him. (Do you remember the advert; ou Grootbek says the little hippo) Fantastic detail of the inside of its mouth. Very well done my friend and thanks for sharing.
Regards
Natley
