|The male is mainly glossy black with white streaking, but females and immature birds are browner. The African Darter differs in appearance from the American Darter most recognisably by its thin white lateral neck stripe against a rufous background colour. The pointed bill should prevent confusion with cormorants.|
It is an 80 cm long cormorant-like fish-eating species with a very long neck, like other anhingas.

Excellent image.Great PVO and razor sharp image.Bautiful natural colors and very nice blur bg.Once again the light is amasing.
Again a wonderful species of birds. The colors, details and focus are great. You take a nice image from a perfect POV with excellent contrast against the background. A wonderful catch. Pity that I can have only 100 photos of my favorite picture.....I must delete some of them for images like this masterpiece here....

ah-ha! this one is a beauty. excellent composition along with fine DoF and overall, a lovely presentation. you even have managed the texture of its plumage out of that difficult body-colour. and no 2D this time :)
