Thank you for your last comments dear friends!

The Spotted Eagle-Owl (Bubo africanus) is a medium-sized species of owl, one of the smallest of the Eagle owls. Its prey consists of small mammals, birds, insects, frogs, and reptiles. It often swallows quite large prey whole, with much head-jerking, and if the object is really challenging, pausing and resting with the mouth full. Prey too large for such treatment it will tear in the normal raptorial fashion, and it also tears shreds off prey to feed nestlings. The male will hunt and bring food when the female cannot leave the nest. Sometimes, even in conditions verging on starvation, he will tear the head off a mouse, but bring the body for the female to feed to the young, or to eat herself if the eggs have not yet hatched.

Hi George
first let's have a look t the photography: great art here, perfect timing, great colors, just enough motion blur in the wingtips to get a dynamic picture and perfect sharp head and eyes, bg colors just perfect and nicely oof and blurred.
I like it very much!
Now let's look at the species: an Eurasian Eagle Owl, not a Spotted which lacks completely the orange tinge and has different spotted pattern.
So I guess this was taken at a bird show, which still makes it a great picture, but already a few years ago I made the suggestion to TN to have 2 supercategories (Zoo and Wildlife) or at least one more cat. of Zoo animals.
It's just about knowing how you got the picture.
Thanks for sharing, George

Quite a surprising in-flight capture at 1/160 shutter speed, Mr Veltchev, and a good one at that!
The blurred wing tips give a strong impression of vigorous flight movement.
