[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The African Olive Pigeon or Rameron Pigeon (Columba arquatrix) is a pigeon which is a resident breeding bird in much of eastern and southern Africa from Ethiopia to the Cape. This is a species of cool, moist forest canopies above 1,400 m altitude, although it occurs locally as low as 700 m. It will use mountain fynbos, second growth and clearings, and feed on agricultural land when not persecuted.

Hello George,
Your beautiful African Olive Pigeon reminds me why I love this type of bird so much. The markings are simply gorgeous and you've photographed it perfectly. I have viewed many different species of pigeons here on TN and this is definitely one of my favorites.

Hello George

Excellent photo of this exotic pigeon, with fine POV to show details
of its plumage patterns, excellent focus, sharpness, details, and contrast, TFS

FANTASTIC.. every detail is minutely shown in the photo. But why does it call olive pigeon. Olives are green in color, but this is more of purple..?

Beautiful composition in a minimalist style. The blurred background in neutral tones, and in the foreground this fantastic arquatrix Columba, perched on a beautiful tree and forming with an interesting diagonal. Incredible purple plumage, elegant white spots mode scales on the chest, incredible strong yellow beak, feet and eye halo. Congratulations on your work, George!

Hello George,
This dove is such a lovely creature, would like to see some of this coloration here. Fine composition as usual and I see that you used a lens of 600mm, are you happy with it?
Kind regards

Great and colourful pigeon and wonderful pic of yours.
