I had captured this Mother Zebra and Foal picture at Satara when we were going Orpen following H1-3. They were standing under a tree to get rid from the Sun.

*It is a Plains Zebra/ Vlakte Kwagga.
*Food - Grass, Sometime leaves
*Habitat - Grassland, Open woodland
*Shoulder Height - 134 cm(+/-)

Hello Srikumar
A touching moment captured in the lives of a mother zebra and her foal. Nicely presented while displaying good detail and beautiful colors. I like the framing and exposure is just right.
I think it would be exciting to view these unique animals in their natural habitat like this. Perhaps some day I will have this good fortune also.

The zebras are well placed in the frame. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the zebras. I like the paly betweem the light and the shadow. Have a nice dy.

It is interesting to see how well the foal's coloring makes it blend in against the mother and actually quite difficult to see - perhaps a natural way to protect it against discovery by predators
