Now my heart is sorely wounded, devastated! As I said to Gerhard in his Bateleur pos of today : Now you have ruined the friendship! Gerhard posted now three magnificent mug shots, all favourites of mine! Why not stay with the hairy spiders or mantises and leave the beauties to me? Well, guess I had to find something to settle the score, so here is one I manage to salvage from the wreck of blurred pictures I took through the wire fences on Saturday. After seeing Gerhard’s nice baby cheetah, I went through my pictures again & found a couple of useful baby shots. So Gerhard, this one is dedicated to you, thanks for providing the edge, now I have to go out & work harder.
Also, a big Thank-You to everyone who joins in our friendly bantering from time to time. This is something I enjoy and value very much. Even touching on Ricardo’s concern on posting and comments, I think if all of us participating just drop a friendly word sometime, we all benefit & get to know one another better. We cannot all meet in the flesh like Gerhard, Japie and I did, but we can meet in cyberspace & place a smile on the dial of the next poster on TN!
Hope you enjoy this kitty as much as I did when I “found” it amongst the nearly 400 pictures I took on Saturday.

Marvallous subjet! Note excellent. Thanks Callie, you did an unforgetable trip with Gerhard and Japie. We was not there with you on the ground but your shots and notes give us an idea of what you lived there... but I envy you three...

Merveilleuse photo.
Excellente note.
Merci Callie. Vous avez fait une excursion inoubliable avec Japie et Gerhard. Nous n'étions pas sur le terrain avec vous mais vos photos et vos notes nous donnent un aperçu de ce que vous avez vécu... mais je vous envie tous les trois...

Callie, settled the score you did. Lovely cub, the eye details is fabulous. That open mouth does it for me though. Great shot, much nicer than mine.

Plenty of cute factor here Callie. Very fluffy, very cute and very good work.

Nice shot! I really like the slightly tired expression you've captured on this one's face - with his mouth open like that and his fur all over the place he looks like he's just been woken up ;) Technically I think it could be sharper, but the most distracting thing is the way most of the background appears to have a double next to it - look at the straw in the background beneath his head, each piece looks doubled. Is it an artifact caused by the OS I wonder? Anyway, nicely captured :-D

Beautifull image, Callie. Very cute and cuddly.
Annalise was telling me that the laboratary she works for occasionaly get cheetas from de Wild. They often find that they have died from stomach ulcers. This is most probably due to stress they experience in captivity. Interesting.

This is stunning. You made the fence vanish. The image is very sharp and the composition excellent.

Ek het gedink dit is jou huis se skerm - Ek het 'n 17" wat jy sou kon leen as dit daar was.

Dit reen honde en katte hier in die kaap, maar was vandag by die butterfly world.

Ten out of ten for cuteness and also for the shot.
You did very well considering that there was a fence in the way.
A very nice capture.
Well done.

Yes, cute is the right word. Comes out very well in the frame, as if he was going to move to the other side of the screen. Beautiful warm colors of a late afternoon, and very expressive attitude make this shot a very attractive cheetah illustration.

In a beauty competition of felines this one would get the prize. This one and "back off" are two fantastic and complementary shots. Congratulations. This two ones really catch the viewer. Great work.

Callie, Well there's the "wow" factor & then there's the "ahhhh" factor..This definitely has the ahhhh thing going on! All the facial details are superb. Sooo cute!! I've enjoyed this one very much.. Thanx Callie!

Nice picture. Well done

Indeed a cute one !
Do you always have to wait a long time, Callie ?
A lot of pictures are taken on the right moment, great work from you everytime !

Super shot Callie. This one caught my eye right away. Cant say iv ever seen baby cheetah before. Very nice.

Well done. I love being able to see the teeth and the tongue - makes such an otherwise cuddly animal look almost vicious!
