[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I have captured this "Mute Swan" (Cygnus olor) in Gauteng, South Africa. Here I'm not mentioning the name of the Lake due to its protection. There are five Swans in the Lake. But don't know how long they will survive. Wish South Africa's wish will fulfill and this species will spread all over the country.

*Mute Swan have been introduced in South Africa as well as Japan, New Zealand and Australia.

*The name 'Mute' derives from it being less vocal than other Swan species.

*Measuring 125 cm to 170 cm in length, this large Swan is wholly white in plumage with an orange bill bordered with black. It is recognisable by its pronounced "Knob" atop the bill.

*The Mute Swan is one of heaviest flying bird, with male (known as 'Cobs') averaging about 12 kg and the slightly smaller females (known as 'Pens') weighing about 9 kg.

Hello Srikumar,
Beautiful photo of an animal which is almost a pest in the area where I live. We got a lot of them. I don't hope they drive out the native species in South Africa.
The photo is splendid with a nice pose and gorgeous colours.
Regards,
Peter

Hello Srikumar,
You could not have asked for a nicer pose then this, the way the wings wrap up around the swans body is so artistic looking. I love the gorgeous golden colored water behind in contrast to the beautiful greenish water in the foreground. Perfect white balance and wonderful eye contact. Love it!!

Hello Srikumar,
Excellent image with this swans.....I hope that they will live despite the small number (5) introduced.....This is such a impressive specie with outstanding shape and color wide spread here in Europe. They are loved by children and everybody wishes to take some pictures with them.

Hi Srikumar,

I like the reflections on the water. The point of view is showing the details of the Mute Swan. The good luminosity is bringing out the colors. Have a nice day.
