[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I have captured this Red Crested Korhan at Orpen, in Kruger National Park. Twice I found this species in Kruger. Another one in Pretoriuskop which I posted earlier here in TN. It was afternoon and light was harsh but I used "Sunny 16 Rule" (because bird wasn't moving much also) here to get at least a decent exposure.

Red Crested Korhaan (Lophotis ruficrista) is a species of bird in the "Otiddae" family. It is found in Angola, Botswana, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Red Crested Korhaan is near-endemic in South Africa. It's omnivorous; feeding on invertebrates, especially termites, beetles and grasshoppers.

Hi Srikumar,few blades of grass disturbs the view but of course you could not do otherwise, it is a rule that when there are rare birds and butterflies, the pic is never perfect...(smile). The best DOF for the best details and bright colors,not lucky with the location but very lucky with the light.Have a nice weekend and thanks,Luciano

Nice photo of this korhan. Difficult to find a good solution for the best photo in these circumstances. But you succeeded very well. Fine sharpness and natural colors. Nice to see it so close.

A very nice image with a lovely colorful specie of birds. The details and focus are excellent. It looks similar to some birds living in Europe, like Pheasant female....They same camouflage colors for dry grass....
