I have captured this 'African Stonechat' ( Saxicola torquatus) at Marievale Bird Sanctuary. In Weekend we travel this bird sanctuary not only to take picture but also to observe birds activities. It wasn't a full cloudy day like first time. In the afternoon got beautiful reddish tint. This picture was taken at the GOLDEN HOUR. I saw so many chats are flying here and there and also noticed a few birds chest colour (Red) bit dipper than others. I have captured a few picture where it is quite evident that difference. Is it breeding plumage! Or pale red colour birds are juvenile! Don't know exactly. So use Google image and found depper as well as pale red feathers stonechat. It was a very windy day and it wasn't an easy shot when this bird was sitting on such thin dry plant and it was tossing its head.

African Stonechat is an old world flycatcher, inhabiting sub-Saharan Africa and adjacent region.

Hello Srikumar,
Your African Stonechat is a very beautiful bird with bright contrasting colors. It appears to have a small sliver of twig or wood either stuck under it's eye or possibly even piercing the lower lid.
I really like the colorful clean BG and nice exposure you managed to obtain. Composition wise I would have had just a little less open space beneath the bird, although this is just my personal preference. Well done!!
