[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I spent some time at a bird hide near Skukuza on my last trip to the Kruger Park. It proved to be very good for water birds but most of the time it was cloudy and the light was not too good. For a few minutes on this particular day, the sun was peeking from behind the mass of clouds and I managed to take some pics of this White Breasted Cormorant.

There were 4 of them there and they were resting on a dry tree protruding from the water. I had my 2X converter on my lense as I was trying to get a good pic of a Malachite Kingfisher that was nearby. I was unsuccessful in that respect but got some good pics of this Cormorant.... I will return for a chance at the Malachite Kingfisher though!

Mnnn - same bird I took, but I see you did not get the model release form signed!! A little flat on contrast maybe - will see what I can do on a ws this weekend. As for the feet, no comment!!

Great composition with a funny title. Focus is a bit soft but colours, DOF and detail are good. TFS.
Dean.

Hello Sheriff,

Great detail on the feet. Must have been a long wait to get this brilliant pic. I do love the moment though. Its as if this White Breasted Cormorant was waiting for something. AWESOME

La pose de l'oiseau est parfaite sur cet branche et le Bg fait bien ressortir le sujet.Par contre les couleurs manque un peu d'éclats à mon avis.

Félicitations Cheriff!

Hi Sheriff,
The composition and framing on this look excellent. As you said, the light was not that great, but you have to shoot whats available. I thinkd Monika's workshop does help with the contrast and colors.

Hello Sheriff, lovely composition and a lovely looking cormorant. It's a little soft in focus but apart from that it's very nice. Well done.

Very nice shot!
The framing and POV are really good here. I think the photo need some adjustments in PP because the colours are quite pale and bird a little soft in focus.
But overall it's a very nice pictureand I like it.
WELL DONE!

Messy! Good shot and good action with gaping mouth, or is it trying to breath? A little soft focus, but otherwise good.

Hi Sherif, These critters are very photogenic but difficult to expose. The white breast tends to over expose easily. The composition is good but the photo needs a bit of sharpening. I did a WS to try and convey the idea. Please let me know what you think.

Brilliant ! Got the full body of this bird in the picture. Poor little fellow will have to wash those dirty feet.

Nice one bru.

Hello Sheriff,
Pleasant composition, and he gives you his best pose!
Good POV and you capture some nice details...
Greetings,
Pablo -

Wonderful shot. I guess cormarants do eat a lot.

Hi Sheriff,
Excellent capture for its pose, POV, detail, DOF, and great BG. I like it!
Well done and TFS!

Hi Sheriff,

I really like this picture. Good focus, DOF and nice composition. The picture is ever so slightly on the soft side, needs some sharpening. Well done.

Hi Sheriff.
Great shot. Many workshops speak about it. Outstanding composition and colour palette (especially colour tones of BG). Amazing captured bird and its pose. Perfect lighting and shadows. POF, DOF and cropping exact at highest range. Bravo. It is a pity only, that you seldom post your nice pictures.
My best regards and wishes.
Yours Alexei.
