[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Lion (Pantera leo) male. This magnificent animal is part of various prides of lion at the Lion Park north-west of Johannesburg, South Africa.

The park also breeds the rare white lions and have several beautiful male and female white lions. The Lion Park is close enough to Johannesburg for day trips.

Although this was not taken in the wild, I believe captive breeding is very important to ensure the survival of the species. Especially with the danger of bovine tuberculoses in the Kruger National Park.

The park also provide trained lions for films.

Hi Willem,

I like the POV very much. This is the king of the animals!
I think you cropped it a bit to tight. For the rest: great capture.

Well composed pic with excellent POV for a Lion Portrait. The Lighting, detail and sharpness are also great. TFS,
