Late afternoon at Lake Manyara National Park. We came by almost empty Hippo pond, where we were told that there are a lot of pelicans. Before we have had enough time to became dissapointed, they started to come back home in the golden light by sunset. Observing flying birds was breathtaking.

About Pelicans from Wikipedia:
A pelican is any of several very large water birds with a distinctive pouch under the beak belonging to the bird family Pelecanidae.

Along with the darters, cormorants, gannets, boobies, frigatebirds, and tropicbirds, pelicans make up the order Pelecaniformes. Modern pelicans are found on all continents except Antarctica. They occur mostly in warm regions, though breeding ranges reach 45° south and 60° North. Birds of inland and coastal waters, they are absent from polar regions, the deep ocean, oceanic islands, and inland South America.

Hola Lenka,
sensacional captura y gran pov...
bello foco, hermosa escena,
saludos

Hi Lenka,
Splendid pose caught!
I like the warm light on the bird and the good details got, on he textured beak and every single feathers.
Did you applied some noise reduction at the background? There is a kind of halo around the bird's silhouette.
Well done and thanks for share.
My best regards,
JM

hello Lenka,
a wonderful bird, in a great flying pose.
You captured him very well, the details in the plumage shows off very perfectly.
Very nicely set against this grey BG, which shows it off perfectly.
Very nice work
