[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This leopard we saw in the serengeti np was just 5 meters away from us.
We were so lucky to see a leopard and then so close our guide also told us he has never seen before a leopard so close.
I will never forget the silence when the leopard walked next to our car.
Great feeling
Hope you like this
Best regards Toba

Hello Tobias,
Look at these fascinating rosettes...
Maybe the leopard was marking the tree. Yes, my nose is good:-)

Wow, Tobias, what a sight! I love those big cats and as a matter of fact, JamesP also posted a leopard picture today. We can see its great strength and the muscles underneath the fantastic coat. Thank you!

Hello Tobias,
Great capture, that must have been a wonderful experience. Good detail and colour, it's a shame his back end is cut off by the tree but still a good capture and a great memory.

Adrian

Hello Tobias,

I can imagine the feeling you and your fellow travelers had when this wonderful big cat came so close.
Must have been a great expierence indeed.
Beautiful shot in wich in looks like the Leopard gives his smell to the tree to mark his territory.
Wonderful light and patterns in the fur.
Excellent sharpnes and clarity.
Very well done. TFS!!!

Have a great weekend, Harry

What I notice most is how well it blends into the environment. The eyes, face, and body are well defined. Nice exposure and frame.

Hi Tobias,
It sounds like a time you will not soon forget..To have the leopard so close in the wild. Now if leoaprds ever learn how to open car doors, you may have a problem ;-}
The "sounds of silence" can be quite loud!
Very good colors, exposure, and details.
The missing tail is not so important here :)
Well done!
Howard

Providential to see and shoot a Leopard from such a close range, Tobias.
You have made the best of the opportunity.
It is a splendid picture of the elegant cat.
TFS and all the best.

Well done! TFS.

Very nice photo, I agree with vanderschelden that it looks like it is scent marking the tree... lol... I've had many cats (of the domestic variety) over the years so am well familiar with the posture.

I like the composition and the POV and DOF are perfect. Great colors, well saturated and the exposure could not be better. Very well done !

Thanks for sharing, Mish

what a lovely shot, Toba, yes, I love it.
Cheers!

Hi Toba,
A perfect capature with great sharpness and perfect colours and exposure.
Regards, Josť M.

very nice shot, nice color and sharpness

Hallo Toba
I think this scene is any photographers dream. Impressive photo with lots of details to appreciate. Good detail of the leopard. The patterns on the fur is very clearly visible as well as the red of the mouth and the greenish colour of the staring eyes. What amazes me the most is the detail of the whiskers so clearly visible. I can just imagine your excitement while taking this photograph. When Loot and I are in the game reserve and he get the opportunity to capture a leopard the adrenalin pumps likes crazy for the both of us. Looking at this image one just realise once again that nature is simply stunning, and that we are very fortunate to see the beauty of it. If not in real life, we see it by ways of brilliant photos, and this posting of yours is no exception. Very interesting to look at. Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards
Anna
