The yellow beak and the general colouration suggests that this is the African Thrush (Turdus pelios), a fairly common species found throughout W. Africa.
Nice low POV, great pose and fine contrasting OOF grassy BG.

Hi James. This African Thrush looks like ours in the way it stands and hold its head . You were able to take A fine close up down at eye level. Taken with good detail and natural looking colours. Well taken TFS.

My new bird for the day and I thank you for it. This African Thrush looks so lovely posing on the grass. He is very handsome with that fine face and beautifully colored wings and plumage. I love the way the eye shows through the dark head.

Dear James
I trust the trip is going better at the moment and that you are feeling better. I think about your journey quite a lot. The Thrush birds in our area are shy and very difficult to photograph as they run and hide behind bushes, they look very similar to yours. A lovely image of this African Thrush taken from the side, giving great opportunity to see the full profile and beautiful features, like its pretty orange beak and the very noticeable separation of colours in the feathers. I like its full sized body and the flash light you caught in the eye could not be missed. Thanks for sharing. Best regards.
