The Saddle-billed Stork (Ephippiorhynchus senegalensis) is a large wading bird in the stork family, Ciconiidae. It is a widespread species which is a resident breeder in sub-Saharan Africa from Sudan, Ethiopia and Kenya south to South Africa, and in The Gambia, Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire and Chad in west Africa.
This is a close relative of the widespread Asian Black-necked Stork, the only other member of the genus Ephippiorhynchus.

Hola Ferran,
Una muy buena foto de la cigüeña africana dando su característico paso, parece en busca de alimento. Tiene unos fascinantes colores, mucho más que la sudamericana y la europea.

nice sharp pic, greetings Ori

Hello Ferran,
These Saddle-billed storks are impressive birds through their saturated colors. They are also always moving in slow-motion. You were surprisingly close here.

An excellent capture of this saddle billed stork, Ferran.
I have seen these birds in many zoos all over the world and have taken many pictures of them. but not a single successful one.
This one is a beauty. Great presentation of the side view.
That colorful huge bill and those pink knees and feet are so amazing.
Focus and light are spot on.
TFS. : )

Hola Ferran.

Que ave tan rara y llamativa, muy parecida a la cigueña, bien lejos has viajado para conseguir esta buena imagen.
