Mackinnon's Shrike (Lanius mackinnoni), also called Mackinnon's Fiscal, is a songbird species of the family Laniidae.
It is found in Angola, Burundi, Cameroon, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Uganda.
Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist montane forests and moist savanna. It is not considered a threatened species by the IUCN.
The population of this species is increasing, which is thought to be due to the degradation of nearby habitat.
Its common name and Latin binomial commemorate Archibald Donald MacKinnon

A beauty, this Mackinnon's Shrike. I've seen it in Africa, but never could make a decent photo of it. This one is great. Excellent sharpness, details, DOF and very beautiful natural colours. Well composed.

Hello Tom,
You have photographed this beautiful Mackinnon's Shrike perfectly. Love the sharp focus and attractive pose. It's markings are very pretty, especially the rufous colored feathers at the base of it's wing. Wonderful exposure and nice blurred BG. Well done!!
