Taken during the summer at Casey Station. A very inquisitive Adelie penguin . They return each summer to breed, usually around October/November, then head back out to the pack ice round about March. They busily build their nests out of small rocks, wandering back and forth with them held in thier beaks. No sooner do they head off to find their next stone, than the neighbour is stealing the one they've just laid down. Very entertaining to watch. |
