This is one of the many pictures clicked during my short visit to Bhutan. Shimmering snow capped mountains that catch first rays of the morning sun are a wonderful sight anyday.
Thanks for looking.

Hi San, This is a nice picture and I like this one specially the bright side and the shadow part. Nice view and good landscape. Ganesh
Since I come from the mountains, mountain- scapes excite me a great deal, Sangeeta.
The mountain-scape you shot in Bhutan early in the morning last year is very attractive, to say the least.
The morning ambience comes out strongly in this picture in the shape of mountains bathed in the mild glow of the rising sun and also in the shape of the darker zone in the valley below.
The contrast between these two zones is one of the srengths of your capture.
Then your foreground of white leafless bushes (I think they have the night frost on them) also creates a lovely contrast with the deep dark valley and matches up with the clouds over the next valley and the light flurry of early snow on the farthest range of nmountains.
The blue sky also contributes a great deal to the appeal of the composition as a whole.
I am waiting for my landscape lens (18-200mm) I ordered online a week ago. Then I'm off to mountains with it and God willing, I ought to be sharing a few of my new Himalayan landscape pictures with TN friends shortly.
Well done and thanks for showing us this beautiful picture.

You seem to be a much travelled lady and you have captured these mountain peaks so beautifully. They look awesome and the frost covered bushes in the FG give a fine perspective of the environment and the chilly weather. The illumination on the sky looks fabulous and I like the gradient colour tones. So majestic it looks. Bring us some more from Bhutan. Excellent POV and composition.Kudos.
A nice capture of this Bhutanese mountainscape. But see it is tilted a little on the left. Always remember to position your camera in such a way that the horizon is 180 degree. Good composition and colors though. Thanks a lot for sharing.
