Im not sure what type of spider this is but it sure made a good photo subject. I don't have to much to say about this photo, so I will keep it short. I cropped this photo so the spikes of this spider really were displayed well. I wanted to keep the head as the central focus and have the spikes create a nice surrounding. I hope you like it even if you don't like spiders much.

Hi Matt,
The light and the details are amazing. I have never seen a spider with spikes like that or maybe just never seen a photo so good to show them off like this. It is an outstanding composition.

Hi Matt

Actually I do not like spiders much, but I do like this spider image. It is an exceptional macro showing all the micro splendour and beauty of this arachnid.

I like the "in-your-face" result you achieved with the cropping while the composition and POV is really great and pleasing on the eye. The range of the DOF ensured that the concentration remained on the remarkable facial area and on the spiky bristles on the legs. The details are ever so sharp and well defined while the colour saturation is rich and stimulating. Another aspect of this photo that really gives it an edge is the brilliant exposure levels. The lighting was well controlled with the fill-in flash.

Great work and TFS.
Regards
Loot

Hi Matt,
I read in your profile that you like unusual perspective in your macro..And this one has it. Really like the frame filling full-face view, slightly broken off to the side. Your lynx capture has sharp detail & great DOF, excellent on all counts. Very well done.

Hello Matt,
This is a superb macro of a spider that seems to use the same hunting environment as a crab spider, though it is not a crab spider. Fine sharpness, DOF and colour. I fine the spikey legs interesting.

HI Matt!

Great quality and sharpness, outstanding photo.TFS!

Great shot! The spikes are very well focussed and they look really creepy. I love spiders,.. and this one wud have made a nice model for any photographer! I guess this is somekind of lynx spider. Not sure though. And I think it may be possible to get some details of the yellow thing beneath the spider (are those some part of any flower or spider eggs?? ) by using highlights in photoshop. Anyways,.. good work

Great immage.No comment.Friendly regards.Alin.

YOWSA!!!!! know some personalities like this!! LOL just adore this picture..amazing capture!!
