|This is a closeup of a beautiful butterfly who was so concentrated on sucking nectar from a flower that she was not aware of my big black camera pointing to her nearer and nearer until I could see her eyes clearly. This lady (I thought it was she) is named the Redbase Jezebel in English. The Redbase Jezebel is a medium sized butterfly of the Family Pieridae, that is, the Yellows and Whites. The species is found in parts of South Asia and Southeast Asia.|
The most conspicuous markings are the bright deep red color patch at the base of the underside hind wings and several yellow streaks above the red base.
