[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I spotted this small butterfly called the Common Hedge Blue on a small plant beside a small stream on the Baiyun Hill. It seemed to me that it liked to stay on a leave for a rest for a long time. After some shots of the butterfly, I went away to another place for more than half an hour, but when I returned, I saw it on the same leave motionless.
Description
Females are rarer and are a pale shining greenish blue with broad black borders on the forewings and dark-dusted on the hindwings. The dark black spots on the underside of the hindwing are quite distinct. The legs are black banded, as are the antennae.
Habitat & Habits
The Common Hedge Blue is usually found flying along brightly sunlit footpaths along forest tracks. It flies in an erratic manner and males are usually observed feeding on damp patches on the forest floor. Males are a shining blue above and this can be noticed when the butterfly is in flight.

Hi John,a very nice small lycaena, good exposure for the best white but the details are another time not the best, maybe you should stay away from the butterfly and not so close.Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

Hello Mr.John,
Nice to see this specie.Several time I tried to capture but couldn't succeeded.Nice colour with beautiful pose.I think due to close cropping it seems little bit hazy. But it doesn't restricted us to cherish the overall beauty of this butterfly.I like dark-greenish blurry BG which isolated the subject nicely.Well captured.
Thanks for sharing,
Regards and have a nice day,
Srikumar
