[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I spotted this very rare species on the Baiyun Hill this afternoon. But unfortunately I got only one shot when it flew away and were not to be found again. This small butterfly is called "the Club Silverline" (Spindasis syama), which belongs to the Lycaenidae family. It is found in South-East Asia and South China, as far as I know.
The Club Silverline is very rare to see because it is rarely encountered but when observed, it is usually on a bright sunny day as it flies rapidly amongst grassy undergrowth.

Regards and have a nice time,

Never have seen a butterfly as this one and what an odd rear feature looking like antennae and its head rather then tail. Must be a survival feature and enjoyed your note too! TFS!

We have Common Silverline in India and I have shot it several times in the past, John.
However, this rare species you have showcased today seems to be making its maiden appearance here on TN. Congratulations!
You were lucky to have captured it rather well in the single shot it gave you.
Thanks for showing us this rare butterfly from your part of Asia.
