[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The butterfly I captured this afternoon on a slope on the Baiyun Hill is called the Yellow Orange Tip. At first I saw it perching on a fern with its wings open. I was stunned by the large orange-colored patch on both tips of its upperside wings. But when I was approaching near enough and going to shoot, it flew away. Then when it perched somewhere else, it no longer opened its wings. So I have to show you a pic of this butterfly with its wings closed, but you may still see very faint orange color at the tip due to the sunshine. But it doesn't matter because there were a couple of postings of this species with its open wings. According to the Wikipedia, Yellow Orange Tip, Ixias pyrene is a small butterfly of the Family Pieridae, that is, the Yellows and Whites, which is found in India.

But I want to make some revision or modification here. I found this species is not small, but of medium size, and it is also found in South China. Or maybe the species I captured in Guangzhou is a variant.

Hello John,
I just can imagine you chasing after this butterfly:-). The next time perhaps you will catch the species with open wings. With shut wings, it's a beauty too. Good sharpness, natural colours, jus may be the composition could be improved, more space in front, less behind, just a suggestion.
Have a nice weekend
