|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|My previous post was Sinai Rosefinch, one of the three species found in Western Palearctic and the biggest of all.(apart from the vagrants and cage escapes)|
Great Rosefinch(Carpodacus rubicilla) is only found in Greater Caucasus mountains and you really need to climb high for those high-mountains species. In Kazbegi, you need to climb over 3000 meters by foot in May to get some.
It looks like a strawberry with a bill. :)
Here is the short movie of these mountains and its birds... Enjoy!

a great addition ,TFS Ori
Le téléobjectif écrase certainement le sujet qui est tout de même relativement bien valorisé dans son environnement.
A bientôt sur TN pour de nouvelles aventures.
What a beautiful bird and a lovely capture showing both colors and patterns of the great rose finch, it reminds me of a red handkerchief, in a good way. :)
