Serpent eagle

[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
It was an anxious wait near a nullah (stream) for the king of the jungle, when I saw this Eagle sitting on a branch nearby. It was big A& with its characteristic eyes, it was looking at the gathering...perhaps trying to understand what the humdrum was all about!!
About Serpent Eagles: These are widespread residents but unrecorded in NW & NE parts of the subcontinent...have broad, rounded wings & soars with wings held upwards with a pronounced V formation. These birds have black crest & un-feathered yellow legs. Adults have broad white bands across wings & tails with white spotting on brown underparts.
Habitat: Forests & well wooded country. |
