Rgds

Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Chordata
Class: Aves
Order: Ciconiiformes
Family: Ardeidae
Genus: Bubulcus
Bonaparte, 1855
Species: B. ibis
Binomial name
Bubulcus ibis

The Cattle Egret (Bubulcus ibis) is a cosmopolitan species of heron (family Ardeidae) found in the tropics, subtropics and warm temperate zones. It is the only member of the monotypic genus Bubulcus, although some authorities regard its two subspecies as full species. Despite the similarities in plumage to the egrets of the genus Egretta, it is more closely related to the herons of Ardea. Originally native to parts of Asia, Africa and Europe, it has undergone a rapid expansion in its distribution and successfully colonised much of the rest of the world.

Hello Gannesh,

A very detailed capture of the egret showing its lovely colours, long beak and staring eye.
Is the inset another view of the same bird?
The bird is nicely extracted from the b/g.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Ganesh,

Beautiful shots of this Egret with wonderful colors and excellent details. I love the yellow eye! Looks wonderful against the green background. The expression on the one in the inset is priceless. What a face.

Hello Narayanan
I have seen this species in many times. But I have never seen it such a pose as like your posted. It is interesting and very nice. I think coloration in reddish different from ones here. Probably subspecies different. Nice portraite work. Thanks. best wishes
Ahmet

Superb shot, Ganesan! And I do not know how, but even though everything is so focussed and sharp, you've captures some movement, and it adds to the main shot!
