[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The confluence of Indus with Zanskar rivers is very obvious on the Leh-Srinagar highway around 25 miles away from Leh. I had stopped here to click this charismatic landscape into a deep gorge from the scary edge of the road........... This is further zoom to what I had shot before. Refer >Confluence

The high altitude (>12,000 feet ASL) mountainous rainshadow desert around with deep canyons are unique & reflect various colors as sun changes its position above them. The color of Indus river is turquoise blue where as Zanskar is muddy brown.

After confluence the river is known as Indus and it moves towards right side (in this photograph) towards Pakistan. River rafting is a popular game here.

Impressive view, Subhash.
You photographed this confluence very well. It's combined very well with your interesting note.
Fantastic colour event.
I wonder whether these roads are sometimes submerged and consequently how experienced and alert you must be to drive in this region...

Hi Subhash,

This is an image that I have come back to a number of times not knowing what to say. The force of nature by way of water is allways fascinating. You have shown us a nice example with good Dof and composition. If these rivers ever come down in flood it must be a terrifying sight

Great view, Subhash, it is very interesting to see the different colours of the water, and the varying textures and colours of the earth.
It is amazing how the water changes the shapes of the land as it passes by
Well captured

Hi Subhash,

Wonderful shot of this amazing sight. The patterns and textures are fascinating to see. The colors are magnificent - beautiful earthtones all blending so well with each other. I keep looking back at the two rivers and each time I see more and more and want to see even more.

The confluence of rivers and tributaries is something new to me since about 2002...when I first saw it in my w ilderness... I still get many images of rivers and such like this but none quite as dramatic...A very nice addition and from locations only a few have ever been. You must feel humbled by this yes?
Bob

Bonjour Subhash,
C'est une image grandiose, bien composée et superbement colorée.
A bientôt sur TN pour de nouvelles aventures.
