The road to Chumathang from Leh runs parallel to Indus River towards its origin in China. The color of the water remains turquoise blue through out. Chumathang is at a distance of approximately 140 Kms from Leh on the road heading for Indo-China intl border. One can see many Blue Sheep, Chukar Partridge & Ruddy Shelducks in the river and around this terrain.

Here the barren mountains were at their best displaying various shades of yellowish-brown, permagnate, greenish grey and maroon. After every few kilo meters the barren landscape would be disturbed by green hamlets by the river side. Around Kiari the mountains were unmistakably Maroon-permagnate in color, it looked really out of this world.

Hi Subhash,

This could be a photo from the western United States. They are the colors that can be found in Arizona and Utah. A beautiful landscape with the water, mountains and lovely sky. The turquoise river seems to be moving.

Nice shot with good composition and colours. But may be a little overexposed.

Bonjour Subhash,
