I found every mountain or hill in Ladakh a unique specimen of geology. They are exposed to erosions and have been carved by the gusty wind & water melting from the top. I have clicked this on my way to Pangong Tso (Altitude 16,000 feet ASL), 5 miles before you reach the shore based destination at Pangong Tso :)

The closing and subduction of the Tethyan Ocean, located between India and Asia during the Paleozoic, followed by collision of continents produced the structures and lithologies we see today in the Himalayas. Consequently, the mountains and surrounding regions are characterized by astounding complexity, represented by a variety of deformed and collision-produced lithologies and representing several phases of tectonic and deformational events.

Hi Subhash,

Another beautiful landscape with these wonderful mountains and blue blue sky. The shadings and details of the mountains are superb. Your pictures are a wonderful advertisement for tourism to India.

Hi Subhash,

Interesting landscape showing the sculpturing force of nature. Nice focus and detail on the whole area.

Hello Subhash,
If the different colours shown in the strata depicrted in this image are anything to go by then the geology of the Ladakh mountain range must be complex and very interesting.
The image is an interesting study of browns, buffs and greys dominated by an incredibly deep blue sky.
A really stunning landscape with not a bit of green!
TFS this beauty and have a good weekend,

Hello Subhash! That's another impressive landscape shot! Great colors and textures and a very good composition! Congratulations!

The varigated colors and the the barreness of this area reminds me a lot of our Death Valley. That rich blue sky really makes this image pop.

Nice shot. The gorgeous blue and sloping hills look great.

Hello Subhash. The rock and the detailed texture looks good against the saturated blue sky. Well lit image in pleasing perspective. Good framing and TFS. Jusni
