Found them on the edge of Leh city on the rocks around Leh-Khardung La roadside; having good time; grazing & viewing the beautiful Leh valley. I could see them when they moved otherwise they had very well merged with the background.

Blue Sheep or Bharal, Napo in Ladakhi: The most common and wide spread of the sheep in the Ladakh region is the bharal or the blue sheep (Pseudois nayaur). This caprid or goat-antelope is found at an altitude of almost 6,000 meters, in summer they graze in huge herds on the rich and abundant grasses of the alpine meadows. Their brownish-gray coloring provides them with protective camouflage and as they often stand motionless they can be extremely difficult to spot but, when alarmed, bharal will bolt swiftly to safety on high rocks.

Hello Subhash.
They do blend in very well.
Good colours and details.
Cheers Dave.

Hi Subhash,

to catch sight of these sheeps (or goats) has not been easy not even after opening the thumbnail! The camouflage works well for them. It's difficult to write a critique about this photo, for example the animals shouldn't stand out too well from the BG, it would appear rather unnatural. On the contrary i like the subject, out of the usual rules butterflies-birds.So i would like to express you my appreciation.
