[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I had shot this Purple Sunbird last year in April. Through oversight, I had left the camera in jpeg format, as a result of which this picture had lost a great deal of quality. Through PP work, I have tried to make it better and here it is for you to react to.

The Purple Sunbird (Cinnyris asiaticus) is a small sunbird. Like other sunbirds they feed mainly on nectar, although they will also take insects, especially when feeding young. They have a fast and direct flight and can take nectar by hovering like a hummingbird but often perch at the base of flowers. The males appear all black except in some lighting when the purple iridescence becomes visible. Females are olive above and yellowish below.

Thank you for posting this one. It has more or less the same features than the ones in South Africa but differs in color and have a smaller beak. Your PP work created a slight halo around the head of the bird.

Hello ram,

You took a very well picture of these Purple Sunbird.
Lovely pose, nice right with his long beak.
We see splendid the drawings on the wings of the bird.
This gives a very well picture, sharpness and clarity be superb. TFS.

Have a Nice weekend,

Excellent use of DOF to isolate the bird. Good angle to catch the iridescence of the feathers. Similar to some large Grackles here in the Pacific NW.

I have nothing against the jpeg format Ram.
This is a fine capture of a male Purple Sunbird.
I like the pose taken from a great POV with nice sharpness and natural colours and it contrasts well against the bright green but clean BG. The composition with the hibiscus flowers adds a nice touch.
Thanks and kind regards,

Hello Ram,
Beautiful photo but a bit oversharpened in the sunbird. Very nice contrasting colours. Pleasing pose with eye contact. Good POV and DOF.

Hello Mr. Ram,
Certainly has some shortcomings and it shows the forced post-processing, but the result is good and becomes a very eloquent picture. It seems necessary to increase the contrast!

This bird is beautiful and stylish, the pose is very good and the environment is very attractive pink hibiscus! Hummm.... this birs is close similar with our "violeteros"

Greetings, thanks for sharing, happy Sunday!

PS: There is a dragonfly for you in the gallery, I hope you have time to watch it! ... I know that you are a teacher and may be very busy!

Regards, TFS

Ciao Ram. Just a show of colours and light. Bit noised MF!

Hi Ram. This little Sunbird is not an easy catch. You have framed the shot beautifully on a hibiscus tree. Love the surrounding of this metallic blue male. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful Sunday. Best regards - Jusni.

Hello Ram,
what a capture. A real splash od wonderful colours. Really exciting to note the hibiscus in stunning softness. The appearance of the sunbird really break through the view in outstanding shines and contrast.
the most classical one is that, the stamens in front of the bird is a real wonder that project the beauty of your composition.
Such a difficult moment to get, and you really earn a big applause for this wonderful shot.
Beauty and the bird I would say.

Hello Ram,
Just by chance I saw this fine picture of the Purple Sunbird. I love the vertical presentation showing the magnificent bird in the middle of these fine-colored flowers. Lovely! Even if the sharpness isn't perfcet here, the artistic character of the picture prevails here.
Kind regards
