[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Here's something I came across for the first time.
It was flying around so I initially dismissed it as a butterfly, but when I saw it land, it looked like nothing I'd ever seen.
I do hope someone can ID it for me...
Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Goldy. I have had a look in my books but i can not help with the ID . But i am sure someone will be able to help. You were able to get a fine picture with the top POV so we can clearly see the markings on the body. with the bright orange / red colour. well done TFS.

Hello Goldy,
A fine capture of a species of Bug (Hemiptera) that is most probably poisonous to predators because of its warning colouration.
The fine dorsal POV and sharpness should enable a hemipterist to give you an ID.
Thanks and all the best,
Ivan

Hi Bro,

I can't believe we are neighbors today! First time and it's great. I'm surprised no one has identified this excellent close-up of the beautifully colored insect. The details and patterns are so sharp - perhaps it is a rare bug. He shows up very well against the rock. I'll check back to see if someone recognizes it.

Jane

Hi Goldy,

The macro view is showing with precision the details and colors of the insect on the rock. It is well framed. The intensity of the light has a good effect on the colors. Have a nice day.
