[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I found this beautiful Francolin while trekking in the jungles of Pangot. While late into the afternoon, I was expecting some bird life to term the hike as 'fruitful' in terms of birding. All of a sudden I saw this Black Francolin come out of the bush. I was thrilled but due to the distance from the bird was not sure about a decent image. I had to crop the original to bring out this image. Not the best in terms of sharpness and details.

About black Francolins:
These are residents of the Northern part of the Subcontinent. The male has a black face with white ear covert patch, rufous collar, black underparts and white spotting on flanks. Female Francolin has rufous neck and streaks rather than spots on the flanks.
Voice: Utters a loud penetrating repeated 'Kor-kor-kee'. Habitat: Active in early mornings & late Afternoons. These birds are found near cultivations, Tea estates & shrubs in plains/ hills.

I see a very good picture in a very difficult situation with the light, but with a amaizing result. Very natural, sharpness, control of the light and excellent composition. The bird is beautiful.

You are a modest person, Satirtha. This is the best Francolin picture I have ever seen. What a fabulous perspective with razor sharp focus, beautiful colours and a wealth of details! The bouquet BG makes the image much more interesting.

Hello Satirtha,
Beautiful bird and quite well captured. Well focus on its eye. Exposure looks good except bit harsh light on the straws which you could easily reduce and I think in such way your picture will look aro aro valo.
In my test details on the shadow area could have been better. I'll show you later if manage time.....doing a PP work what I want to say.

What a beautiful bird you have presented to us, the detail is excellent and you have done a great job on the exposure. Superb eye contact with a bit of catchlight visible. I love the colors and the low POV you have obtained. Great job!!
