Hello friends,
This picture is dedicated to Mr. Ram Thakur for the avid interest he has shown in my work. Thank you Ram for sparing your valuable time and thoughts on my pictures.

The monsoon has reached us and today morning we (my self & Smitha) had many avian visitors during the brief sunshine. The bronze drongo was one of them, a willing model sat there posing while we could try out our new 600mm lens. This is the first post and you can see that we have a lot to learn !! Hope by the time monsoon is over we will be able to handle it :)

Thanking you all for the encouragement and valuable critiques.

Warm Regards

Hi Anil,
I am thrilled on two counts:
1. Your dedication of this truly beautiful picture of a Drongo to me
2. Your acquisition of a truly powerful lens.
If you have used the new lens on this bird, you have mastered its potential already.
Congratulations for having it and also for using it so expertly.
Smitha and you make the finest nature photographer couple in the entire world although you are a laid-back guy and dispense the joy of your superb pictures on TN sparingly :-).
Hope both of you are keeping well.

Hi Anil,

A wonderful dedication to Ram and a beautiful Bronze Drongo. An excellent capture of this handsome bird. The pose is wonderful and the expression on his face is priceless. Excellent colors, fine details and a superb composition. I would love to see him in real life.

Hi Anil,
Its is nice to see a picture from you and that too with your new baby! Its a nice dedication to one of the most respected members of TN.
On the picture front, nice composition with very good colors.

Hi Anil,
At last, you are showing a picture taken in my dream lens. Nice dedication of a beautiful bird. well composed and you have not mentioned who is holding the lens for you!!!:)

Hello Anil,
Great posture. Thus a very good moment. Excellent POV and DOF. Perched very well with a matching BG.

Hallo Anil
This is such an interesting looking bird. It looks as if its head feathers somehow have been curled. A delightful portrait of a most charming bird. Good composition with great details and colours. Focus, sharpness and depth of field are just right. I really like this image of this bird unknown to me. It displays well and is a lovely close-up. The colour of the plumage is really special. Thanks for sharing this dedication to Ramthakur with us.
Kind regards

Congrats Anil for the 600mm vr.this is superb profile of this drango.I liked the pose and good details.Well deserve dedication to Mr Ram.

Hello Anil,
Congrats for the new lens!
The image is little tightly composed, you should have left some more space (right side).
A profile of the bird would have been better, you could have waited (as you mentioned the bird's tolerence). I wonder why the background is not totally out of focus. Don't use aperture priority, choose aperture manualy for better results.
all the best.

Dear Anil,

I don't have the insight to speak technical facts.. but here this inspires me a lot..
Every image has it's own magical moods.
The moment, the approach, the technics, the insight, the vision.. and the concept.. when all juxtapose to ONE, the image is born... and a sigh in the image maker...
Good vision, well handled.
My wishes for the new lens... it's amazing:)
Take care.
Always.. with admirations,

Hello Anil,
I have tried to capture a Bronze Drongo in Goa, but the result was useless as it was too much in the shade. Here you have made a fine ambient light capture showing the iridescent plumage with fine sharpness and detail. The pose and composition are excellent too.
All of which make it a superb shot and a very suitable tribute to our friend Ram.
Thanks for sharing this beauty,
Best wishes, Ivan

Dear Anil, great shot, i like the pose and the beautiful background. Neat perch good compo. also you got a fantastic lens I guess, TFS. with best regards.vab.

Hi Anil,
