Greater Crimson Glider Urothemis signata
|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|Photo taken from Kottayam, Kerala. Greater Crimson Glider belongs to Libellulidae family, and is a common dragonfly here. The dark spots in the abdomen and black legs helps to distinguish them from other red dragonflies. This one is a male.|
The reddish patch in the background from top left to bottom right is a village road. Also took some other shots from different angles so as to avoid it and to maintain the green background behind the dragonfly. But I prefer this one as I feel the light red background is matching with the vivid red color of the dragonfly, and is giving a flow to the picture.

Very nice macro with an excellent sharp focus on the head and beautiful natural colours. Good choice of background. Taken from an excellent point of view.
