[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note

This is my first upload in 2009 and I want it to be peaceful and caring.

I was away and missing the TN for nearly 2-3 weeks and had been to one of my loving Pilgrimage to the souther part of India. The place is called "Sabarimala". The significant part is "This year was my 25th year" and hopefully I keep doing it every year. This place has no religion/caste/age/status and everyone sees other person as a swami.

Small note

Sabarimala (Mount Sabari - about 3000 feet above sea level) is the most favourite and significant temple in Kerala. Pilgrimage to this temple symbolises the journey to heaven. The journey of spiritual candidate to Sabarimala is difficult and adventurous. The pilgrims observe severe austerities, wearing rudraksha or tulsi beads strings in the neck and trek up the forest to reach the temple. The feeling of delight and spiritual elevation one gets when devotees have the darshan (when devotee sees) of the deity is remarkable and significant. The magnetic charm is so high, it makes any devotee, who undertakes the yatra (pilgrimage) once, to revisit the shrine every year in quest of spiritual solace.

Sabarimala temple is open to all, irrespective of caste, creed, religion, social status or nationality.
The shrine is open only during specific period in a year. It is open from Mid- November to Mid-January and for first five days of every Malayalam month.

Thank you for reading the note. The place is so beautiful sorrounded by thick forest and nature's beauty. My programme was so tight and I could not visit smitha's place on the way. Probably next time.

Let us all preserve and love nature.

Hi Ganesh,
Welcome back! Very good capture of this beautiful view; good POV and composition with the palm trees framing nicely in the front, very good feeling of depth, good lighting and colours.

Hi Ganesh,

Sabarimala is very beautiful place and i am sure is peaceful place. Great shot of mountain with natural framing.Great note, I like nature too.TFS.

I wonder....would they consider even an American as a "swami"? Or if I should ever go there..perhaps I will do the old trick. Carry my Canadian T-shirt, talk about hockey a lot...and remember to say all the right things eh? :-) I say this with tongue in cheek humour of course...not quite as unusual as the Prince:-))) although I think those show him only a bit of a normal young man. My kids are great but they too joke...

Now I say this because if I went there..for one thing your image gives me the feeling of HOT! I can also see it in the vegetation. And there is a haze to the mountains. I wonder if that is pollution,,,,,or a weather inversion...and number three...how many creepy crawly things will hurt me when the bite:-) An image with many questions...but if all answered correctly could lead one there as you do every year...You are Blessed!

Hello Ganesan,
Glad to know that you you are back from Sabrimala spritual trip. I appreciate the beautiful environment of this Holy place. TFS.

Hi Ganesan.
Wonderful title and amazing shot. Simply fine place and it is reproduced with great taste and love. POV and framing of the scene as well as framing from palm trees are brilliant. I like perfect DOF, excellent details nearest and far objects, impressive shades of the hills, pleasant sunlight and delicate natural colours. Well done and TFS.
