Very beautiful PAPILIO, named on the two bigs shining emerald spot on the upper side of hind wing. having the characteristic solo tails on both hind wings.one the rare beautiful large butterfly of our place. like very much to fly on sun beam.lower side of the hind wings there are two red spot near to the big emerald green spot.very much fond of nector and occassionally in mud puddling. common during aug,sep and Oct. months. Larva feeds on Toddalia asiatica. wing span 80-140mm.
it is one of the endangered spp. in South India.

Sci. Name :Papilio paris.
Family : Papilionidae.
