One of the most common and prominent dainudae butterfly
of Kerala now belong to nymphalidae Family. Larva and pupa are cute. Larva feeds on plants having milky sap.
like banyan tree.wings are dark brown and at the end of hind wing there are two rows of white spots.and random distribution of 10-12 tiny white spots on the fore wings.
Keeps congregation on some plants like Crotalaria spp. for getting alkaloids and they are migratory.
Wing span 85-95mm. food Plant Ficus spp.and Nerim spp. etc.
Sci. Name : Euploea core core.
Family : Nymphalidae.
