Hi all,

This picture of the spider was taken at Yelagiri hills in Tamil Nadu near Vaniyampadi. I also saw many species of butterflies and dragon flies. Since I reached the place pretty late in the day, I could not take pictures of the butterflies.

I do not know the species of this spider. I found this behind a barbed wire and thick foliage. I managed to remove the foliage, but the barbed wire was still coming in the way. This was taken at 4:00 p.m. in the evening, with an under exposure of two stops. I had to use F22 on my Sigma 70-300 to get the spider and the web into focus.

I did not do any post processing of the picture except to reduce the size.

Dear Murali,
This reminds me of the one we saw in the Bannergatta park.
